Choice Hotels pushes into RV travel, CPP Investments and the Zerodha founders back Indian hospitality platforms and the week's product news runs heavily to AI — from Accor's ALL Concierge to native messaging at Mews. Plus leadership moves at Sabre, Amex GBT and Traveltek.

Choice Hotels parks $130m in outdoor hospitality

Choice Hotels agreed to acquire Harvest Hosts, an RV and outdoor-travel membership platform with more than 11,200 host locations, for roughly $130 million in cash. The deal takes Choice well beyond its traditional franchise footprint and into the increasingly crowded outdoor-stay segment.

Capital flows into Indian hospitality

CPP Investments agreed to take around 27% of Prestige Hospitality Ventures for approximately $441 million to support the platform's expansion. Separately, Zerodha founders Nithin and Nikhil Kamath picked up a 6.72% stake in Viceroy Hotels, which is pursuing a reported ₹105 crore rights issue following its insolvency resolution.

Accor and Mews stack more AI into the guest journey

Accor launched ALL Concierge, a conversational AI companion spanning inspiration, booking, in-stay and post-stay support, rolling out across its digital channels. Mews countered with native Guest Messaging and Automations — consolidating multi-channel communications into a single thread — alongside a new native analytics product, Mews BI.

Cloudbeds enters the revenue management fray

Cloudbeds launched a new RMS built on its unified data layer, combining property, guest, channel and market data to sharpen forecasting and pricing. The move puts it in more direct competition on the pricing-engine front, and it also added Klook as a distribution channel across Asia-Pacific.

Sabre and Amex GBT fill senior commercial seats

Sabre named Niklas Andréen chief commercial officer for airline tech, while Amex GBT appointed Evan Konwiser chief product and strategy officer and Alisa Copeman chief marketing officer. At Traveltek, Cressida Sergent stepped up to CEO, succeeding Mal Barritt.

Adoption is everywhere, strategy is rare

Two studies underline the gap between using AI and scaling it: one survey of 107 hotel leaders found 63% use AI regularly but only 12.6% have a scaled strategy and 35% do not measure ROI, while h2c's study of 113 chains found 91% using AI but only 28% with a company-wide approach. Skills gaps and integration remain the recurring barriers.

Hotels test their leverage over distribution

Hilton's CIO argued declining OTA power will favour hotels, though he conceded AI agents may charge commissions of their own. In a more concrete example, Frenchospitality cut tech spend by 75% through stack consolidation while lifting its direct booking rate to 35% — a reminder that channel mix and margin discipline are moving together.
