Mews finishes its operating-system build and pulls SiteMinder's distribution engine into the PMS, MCP connectors keep multiplying as hotels court AI agents directly and a run of C-suite chairs change hands at Sabre, Virgin Atlantic and RMS.
Mews finishes the build, SiteMinder moves in
At Unfold 2026 Mews launched five products — revenue management, distribution, guest messaging, automations and accounts receivable — running on a single data model it calls an AI-native operating system. Separately, SiteMinder's distribution engine is being embedded natively into the Mews platform, giving hotels channel access from within the PMS without a separate integration. The PMS-CRS-channel manager lines keep blurring.
Oracle drops an assistant into OPERA Cloud
Oracle Hospitality announced OPERA Cloud Assistant, an AI capability embedded directly into the PMS covering room assignments, rate descriptions and translation, aimed at standardising execution across multi-property portfolios. Reporting says it comes at no extra cost to existing OPERA Cloud customers — a notable pricing signal for a core-system upgrade.
MCP connectors line up to skip the OTA
A cluster of vendors launched MCP connectivity this week: Grevon debuted its Kore layer with booking, voice and staff agents, Simple Booking wired its CRS to AI assistants across 7,000 properties and Zucchetti North America shipped a connector suite pitched explicitly at accepting direct AI-platform bookings and bypassing OTA distribution costs. The plumbing for agent-driven direct booking is being laid quickly.
Sabre reshuffles its commercial bench
Sabre appointed Niklas Andréen as Chief Commercial Officer for its airline technology division and named Todd Arthur to lead EMEA Agency Solutions. Two commercial appointments across the airline and agency sides as the retailing agenda continues to dominate the GDS conversation.
Virgin Atlantic hands digital and IT to one chair
Virgin Atlantic named Alex Alexander as Chief Digital & Information Officer, a C-suite role covering digital, data and IT with an explicit brief to accelerate AI and data initiatives. Elsewhere in the sector, hospitality tech provider RMS added Chetan Arjun as CFO to support its global growth push.
Radisson automates the best-rate guarantee
Radisson Hotel Group rolled out AI-driven real-time price matching across all properties, automatically detecting and matching lower OTA rates on RadissonHotels.com. It turns a manual claims process into an automated one and is squarely a bid to cut leakage to the OTAs.
Travelport bundles the trip into TripServices
Travelport unveiled TripServices, a cloud-native AI platform for travel sellers that pulls flights, hotels and ancillaries into a single booking environment. A distribution-layer refresh that puts the GDS's AI ambitions in front of the agency channel.
