Sabre releases its cloud-native PMS, Mews and SiteMinder tie up on distribution, Faye lands a $50m Series C and the executive chairs keep turning at Expedia, Sabre and Choice.
Sabre ships SynXis Property Hub
Sabre announced the general release of SynXis Property Hub, a cloud-native PMS pitched at more connected, personalised guest experiences. The move puts Sabre back into the property-management conversation, a segment where cloud-native challengers have set the pace.
Mews and SiteMinder pair up on distribution
Mews and SiteMinder announced a partnership they describe as the industry's first fully integrated best-in-class distribution solution. It is the latest sign that PMS and channel-management vendors are stitching their stacks together rather than competing across the whole guest journey.
Faye banks $50m for AI travel protection
US-based travel protection platform Faye closed a $50m Series C, roughly doubling its total funding to around $100m. The insurance-and-assistance layer embedded into the booking flow remains one of the more fundable corners of travel tech.
Cloudbeds and Sabre chase the RMS crowd
Cloudbeds launched Cloudbeds Insights, a reporting and data intelligence product aimed at multi-property operators, and extended its integration with Lighthouse for revenue and distribution data. Separately, Revenue Analytics brought Climber RMS to North America, targeting independent and regional groups. The revenue-management and data layer continues to attract product spend.
Conversational search lands at the front of the funnel
IHG launched conversational hotel search across IHG.com and its One Rewards app, letting travellers describe a trip in plain language rather than start from destination and date fields. Marriott rolled out Ask Bonvoy on the same theme, and Cendyn unveiled Wayfinder to help hoteliers track their visibility across Gemini and ChatGPT. AI discovery is moving from the back office to the booking interface.
Expedia, Sabre and Choice reshuffle the top table
Expedia Group named Derek Andersen as CFO, with Scott Schenkel departing after the transition, while Sabre appointed Niklas Andréen as Chief Commercial Officer for Airline Tech. Choice Hotels promoted Tony Pallas to Chief Technology Officer, and HBX Group installed Brendan Brennan as interim CEO as Nicolas Huss retires.
Agency volume climbs, commissions barely follow
Hotel Tech News reported agency channel growth of 11.8% in H1 2026 while commissions rose just 0.8%, a gap that keeps supplier economics under pressure even as demand improves. Meanwhile the AI Hospitality Alliance flagged the EU AI Act's disclosure and anti-discriminatory-pricing requirements, raising the compliance bar for customer-facing AI.
