WeTravel closes a $92M Series C, the big PMS names bolt AI assistants into their workflows and a wave of MCP connectors positions hotels for agent-led bookings. Kayak, ATPCO and Casago all change hands at the top.

WeTravel lands a $92M Series C

The multi-day trip operating system raised $92M in a round led by Sapphire Ventures, with Left Lane Capital, Base10 and Cross Creek participating. It is the largest travel-tech round close to this window, and a reminder that capital is still flowing to infrastructure serving tour operators rather than consumer OTAs.

Kayak, ATPCO and Casago change chairs

Peer Bueller takes over as CEO of Kayak while long-serving Steve Hafner moves to Executive Chairman. Elsewhere, Brett Burgess is named CEO of airline pricing infrastructure provider ATPCO, and Casago founder Steve Schwab hands the CEO role to president Joe Riley and shifts to chair the board.

MCP connectors turn HITEC into an agent-readiness contest

Aven, the former Sabre hotel unit, is embedding Model Context Protocol across SynXis to make rates and availability for 35,000-plus hotels discoverable by AI agents while keeping pricing control with hotels. Zucchetti North America and HITEC newcomer Grevon both launched their own MCP connectivity layers aimed at direct AI-driven bookings and lower OTA reliance.

Oracle and Sabre push AI into the PMS core

Oracle Hospitality launched OPERA Cloud Assistant, embedding AI directly into OPERA Cloud workflows at no extra cost, while Sabre moved SynXis Property Hub to general release. Both signal that the AI layer is now expected inside the property system rather than bolted on beside it.

Revenue tools go conversational

Canary launched a Hospitality AI Agent Studio for building custom agents across reservations, operations and sales, while Lighthouse introduced Ernest, pitched as a member of the commercial team. RoomPriceGenie added plain-language Price Explanations and PMS-embedded Revenue Intelligence, and Revenue Analytics brought its Climber RMS to North America.

Data and impact roles fill out the C-suite

Travelodge named Kinnari Ladha as Chief Data Officer, Virtuoso appointed Paul Kearney as SVP for technology and Intrepid Travel created a new Chief Impact Officer role for Payton Iheme. The pattern points to specialised leadership around data, technology and sustainability rather than headcount growth.

Pricepoint raises $6.6M for AI revenue management

Pricepoint closed a $6.6M seed round to build out AI-powered revenue management for hotels and rentals. It is a small cheque against the billion-plus that has gone into hotel tech over the past year, but revenue optimisation remains where much of that capital keeps landing.
